Privacy Policy

Pedometer: Count Walking Steps (
com.happyverse.stride
) · Published by Happyverse
Last updated: 30 May 2026

At Happyverse, we believe in transparency and honesty about how Pedometer: Count Walking Steps (“the Application” or “the app”) handles your information. We hope you find this privacy policy clear and easy to understand. If you have any questions, please contact us at <a href=”mailto:[email protected]”>[email protected].

Step and physical activity data

The core purpose of the app is to count your steps and show related activity metrics. To do this, the app reads step and physical-activity information from your device using the Android Activity Recognition permission (
ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION
) and your device’s built-in step-counter and step-detector sensors.

This activity data is used solely to provide the app’s core step-counting features (step count, distance, calories, goals, and progress).

Your step and activity data is processed and stored locally on your device. We do not transmit your raw step or activity data to our servers.

We do not sell your activity data, and we do not share it with advertising partners or use it to target ads.

You can revoke the Activity Recognition permission at any time in your device settings, though doing so will stop step counting.

Does the app require an account?

The app does not provide an option to create an account. We do not store, nor do we have access to, the personal step and activity data you generate inside the app, because that data stays on your device. The remaining sections describe the limited device, usage, and advertising data that may be collected to operate and improve the app.

Information the app collects and how it is used

Device data

This data tells us about the device you use to access our services, such as the model, device settings, application identifier, and crash information. This information helps us fix bugs, tailor the app to our users’ devices, and improve our services.

Event and usage data

When you use the app, our analytics providers may process data to help us understand how the app is used, for example which screens you visit or which features you open. We use this information in aggregate to understand which features are most useful and to improve the app.

IP address

We collect IP addresses provided by your device to deliver the service. We may also use an approximate, anonymized IP-based location for statistics, analytics, and regulatory compliance. To be clear, we do not collect your precise location.

Email address

We obtain your email address only if you contact us for support. We use it solely to respond to you and provide support, feedback, or important information.

Analytics

The app does not collect any usage or crash-reporting data without your consent. If you consent to data collection, the app collects limited usage data that helps us deliver and improve our services, for example how much time users spend on certain screens or which features are popular.

These analytics services automatically collect certain information that does not personally identify you, including device-state information, unique device identifiers, installation UUID, device hardware and OS information, and anonymized IP addresses. The app does not collect personal data that directly identifies you, such as your name or anything you type within the app.

We use the following analytics providers on Android: Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics (Google Inc.).

Google Analytics for Firebase — collects usage and device data such as unique device identifiers, usage data, and anonymized IP addresses, to help us understand usage patterns and improve the app.

Firebase Crashlytics — helps us identify crashes and errors to improve reliability. Data collected: Instance IDs and crash traces. Crash stack traces are retained for 180 days; Firebase retains Instance IDs until a deletion request is made.

Advertising

Advertising helps us keep the app free. The premium version of the app does not serve any ads. Ad content is not based on the activity data you generate in the app, and we do not share your activity data with ad providers.

The free version uses the AppLovin MAX mediation platform, which may serve ads from the following networks: AppLovin, Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network, Unity Ads, ironSource, Pangle, Liftoff, Mintegral, and Moloco. These networks may use cookies or device identifiers and may use behavioural retargeting (showing ads tailored to your interests and behaviour, including behaviour detected outside our app).

Google’s advertising requirements are summarized in Google’s Advertising Principles. Personal data collected for advertising may include cookies and the Google Advertising ID.

We may share information with, and may receive information from, the advertising partners below to operate the app and provide more relevant advertising:

If you opt out, you will see the same number of ads, but they will be less relevant to you.

Children’s privacy

The app is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect or use personal data from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at <a href=”mailto:[email protected]”>[email protected] and we will take steps to delete it.

GDPR privacy

Legal basis for processing. We may process personal data on the basis of your consent, performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, protection of vital interests, public interest, or our legitimate interests.

Your rights under the GDPR. If you are within the EU, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; to object to or restrict processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, or to opt out of the sale of your personal data, email us at <a href=”mailto:[email protected]”>[email protected]. We will respond free of charge within 45 days of receiving a verifiable request, extendable once by a further 45 days with notice.

Data security

We apply security measures to protect against misuse, loss, or alteration of personal information under our control, and we follow industry best practices when transferring and storing data. While we cannot guarantee that misuse, loss, or alteration will never occur, we use all reasonable efforts to prevent it.
